What is an Apostille?  

Do you have a document that needs to be used in a foreign country?  If so, you may need an Apostille or Authentication, depending on where your document needs to be used. 

• An apostille and authentifications are certificates that authenticate a document for use in proceedings in a foreign country. These certifications guarantee the authenticity of a document's signature and any notarial seals affixed to the document. Apostilles and Authentifications and are used to ensure that notarized legal documents are recognized as valid across borders. While every country has its own set of laws and procedures for notarizing documents, apostilles and authentifications provide an international guarantee that these requirements have been met.

• Apostilles are attached to the original document they are certifying and ensure that the document will be accepted in countries that are Members of the Hague Convention.

• Authentifications are intended for documents for use in countries not participating in the Hague Convention.  These require the Great Seal, which is administered by the Secretary of State’s Elections Division. 

NOTE:  At this time - Georgia Peach Notary & Courier Services, LLC is only accepting Apostille Facilitation requests for documents originating in the state of Georgia with a destination country that is a signatory of the Hague Convention Treaty.  Click here to find out if the country that your documents are destined for is a member of the Hague convention: https://www.hcch.net/en/states/hcch-members.

RATES:  The first apostille request = $150.  

Second requests for documents originating in the same state = $50.

quoted and billed separately)

PROCESSING TIMEFRAME: Most Apostilles can be processed within 5-7 business days for documents originating in the state of Georgia.  Georgia Peach Notary & Couriter Services, LLC cannot guarantee the time frame of document processing, as this depends on varying factors that may be out of our control.

COURIER SERVICES:  We travel to the Georgia Clerks Authority for Apostille processing most Fridays and can process apostille requests on those days with return mailing the same day.  Packages must be received on the Thursday prior to ensure Friday processing.  Our rate for courier services only is $75 + $25 for each additional document and payment must be made in advance.  GPMN is not responsible for documents lost in the mail by shippng carriers.
